Paris – A life Less Ordinary (Book review)

Imagine getting a sneak peek into the life of a photographer, hired to candidly capture events, emotions, lives in a moment’s CLICK! Add to that, a rollercoaster ride of surviving daily life that the photographer navigates thanks to her complicated Parisian vie.

Nope, it’s not all Emily in Paris.

This book is more like Sex and the city.

Different city of course. Sexier city, bien sür.

It was a very interesting experience to be shooting million-dollar homes in Paris when I Myself had just escaped being homeless!

Krystal Kenney

But, a very real Carrie is the protagonist. Her name is Krystal and she’s our photographer turned author and by the end of the book you’ll realise how much this ‘must read’ should become a ‘must watch’.

Reading this book made me feel like I was listening to a good friend. The author is so relatable.

Her encounters on the other hand oscillate between ‘real’, ‘crazy’ and ‘only possible in Paris’. Some of them, just like a dream. Some are like nightmares you wouldn’t want to wish upon anyone. And a few are hopelessly adorable. Like, when a drunken Kenney spots Alexander Skarsgard of the TV series ‘True Blood’ and whispers to her friend:

I’M GOING TO ASK THE VAMPIRE TO DANCE

You are going to want to read what happens next!!

This book has SO many characters spread across the many avenues and boulevards of Paaari! Once you have the book in hand, clear out the next few hours, because it is absolutely unputdownable!!!

  1. Nice review! I enjoyed Krystal’s book. A fun read! Even though it Included a lot of activities that I hope my daughter did not encounter when she moved to her new city! I have so enjoyed Krystal’s podcast for the past year and a half. She is very relatable!
